Attack of the Duck!!!

Before I start this post, I want you all to know that I wasn't there so this is all via Blaine. I have laughed my head off about this!!! As some of you know, Blaine is the golf coach. They practice each afternoon at JDCC (the junior college here in town). It's a 3-hole course with a pond. The pond has ducks, of course. We have taken the girls out there to "feed the ducks" like we loved to do in Pell City. The first time we went, I noticed the ducks were quite aggressive. As most of you know, I am terrified of dogs, and this fear also includes ducks now. Anyway, to make a long story short...Abbie and I are afraid of the ducks but Blaine and Lizzie are not. So today, Blaine calls me to see how the girls' doctor appointments went. Afterwards, he proceeds to tell the THE STORY. It goes something like this...he was walking across the bridge to meet up with his golfers who were already on the course. As he crosses, he notices a rather large duck at the end of the bridge. Not being afraid of ducks, he just walks on across. As he passes the duck, it bites him on the leg. Of course, he is caught off guard. The bite draws blood and left a place on his leg. At this point, he makes a noise and shakes his leg. Most of you know Blaine and can picture this whole thing! I can just see it!!! Anyway, he keeps walking and apparently the duck is still mad at him. The duck proceeds to attack him on the back. By this time he is flailing his arms, running from the vicious duck. A couple of the boys see the whole thing...I just wish I could have seen it. Needless to say he does more flailing, hollering, and scampering quickly away from the duck. When I got home and saw the "wound" on his back, I knew I had to take a picture and put it on the blog!!!!! I have laughed so hard...the entire time I've been writing this entry. Anyway, here's his battle wound...

see the perfect outline of the duck's beak!!!!! :)

Ali--this little story was cracking me up! Unfortunately, in my lifetime, I have seen the "flailing, hollering, scampering" side of Blaine.....and it was not a pretty sight. What I wouldn't have given to have been on that golf course! Thanks for giving me a laugh tonight! :)

I'm just wondering if he will ever live it down or if it will live on at Neal forever. Can't you just hear it 20 years from now. Wonder how much it will have grown. I bet the duck will either be gigantic or two inches tall. Give Blaine my sympathy. Thanks for starting my day with a good laugh.

Kyler said to tell Blaine that he knows a good "Duck Burgandy" recipe if he choices to seek revenge.
