Lizzie's 1 Year Check-up...Finally!

Lizzie will be 13th months old tomorrow (Thursday)!

Lizzie and Abbie both have been sick for what seems like a month. I took Lizzie back today to see if she was well enough for her 1 year check-up. Thankfully she was!! She weighed 20 # 3 oz which means she lost 3/4 a pound in the past 3 months. Dr. Stewart said it was fine since she is now mobile. She's in the 50th percentile for weight and the 95th percentile for height! I'm hoping she'll be my model!!! Abbie's going to be too short to model :) Anyway, here are a few pictures before we went to the doctor. There's one of me that Abbie took...and she did a really good job!

Rudolph The Red-Nose Reindeer

Today, the kids at pre-school wore reindeer ears and Mrs. Dunaway painted their noses red. They were so cute!! They sang "We Wish You A Merry Christmas" when they came out. Here are some pics from today.

Christmas Picture

I finally finished making Abbie and Lizzie's Christmas dresses...that's why I haven't sent out Christmas cards yet...I wanted their pictures in these dresses. Anyway, we were on our way to the park and I thought I would try to get a picture first. I got the girls dressed, bows in, and ready and was afraid it would take forever to get them both to cooperate. Well, little do I know. These are the only two pictures I made...and I didn't think they could get any better so I quit while I was ahead. Abbie's is old enough now to cooperate for the most part, and Lizzie apparently loves the camera!! Merry Christmas!!!

Visiting Santa

Sunday, we took the girls to Pensacola to see Santa. Abbie hasn't sat in Santa's lap by herself since she was 6 months old...I've sat once and Blaine and I sat together with her once. She promised she would sit his year, and I really thought Lizzie would be fine with him. Boy was I wrong!!! Abbie did GREAT!!! She sat like such a big girl and told him she wanted a Rose Petal Cottage. Lizzie...well the picture speaks for itself!!!

Waiting for Santa...

Lizzie is so excited to see Santa!!

Still watching anxiously...

And now for the rest of the story!!!

But look at what a big girl Abbie is!!! We were so proud of her!!!

Family History

Courtney Lawson Long asked about the highchair Lizzie is sitting in at Mom and Dad's house. This was my older brother Tom's chair. He was born in 1976 the Bi-Centennial year and that's on the back of the chair I believe. Anyway, my younger brother Ben and I both used the chair as well as Abbie a few years ago. Even neater than that is the other highchair we have at Mom and Dad's house. It was my Dad's chair when he was little. Abbie still sits in it every once in a while. It doesn't have a tray on it so she can still fit in it (not that she can't sit in the other one with her little bod). Anyway, we're a pretty sentimental family, and Mom saved a lot of our things that Abbie and Lizzie LOVE playing with now. It's so neat to see them playing with things that I loved to play with...it brings back such great memories.

Slumber Party at Blair's (and now Ben's)

My good friend Jennifer, who lives in Leeds, invited Abbie and me to spend the night Friday night with them. We left Lizzie in Roanoke to spend the night with Nanny and PaPaw (which went great!!!) Thank you both so much!!! Abbie and I had so much fun with Blair and her mom (and Ben). We did some shopping and visiting. It was great to have some time with them!!! Jennifer just had a baby boy, Ben, the first week of October, but she still found room (and sanity) to board us. I did get some pictures of the beauty queens (or should I say princesses) and one of Ben. I have one of him and his mom but I won't post it...although she looks great! :) We can't wait to come visit again soon!!!
By the way, Ben was born with a rare circulatory condition and I would appreciate if you would all keep him and Jennifer, Scott, and Blair in your prayers. They go to Boston December 14 for a consult with doctors. They are such a precious family and mean a lot to us! Baby Ben is so precious!!!

1 Year Checkup...We Thought

I took Lizzie in last week for her 1 year check-up, but we ended up getting a sick baby appointment instead. Lizzie had the crud and got an antibiotic and cough medicine. She didn't act like she felt too bad, but her nose and cough were horrible. She seems to be getting better, and here are a few pictures of her in the waiting room and check-up room.

Thanksgiving in Berry

The girls had a great time in Berry with Kilbie and Michael. They played so hard!! And of course they slept very little!!!

Lizzie Turns "1"!!!!!

I can't believe my baby is 1 year old!!!!! This year has flown by so fast!!! She has definitely blessed out lives just as Abbie has for over 4 years now. I cannot imagine life without both of them!! I wouldn't want to! Since we live so far away from our families, we couldn't manage a birthday party with everyone. We did have a small family party at Mom and Dad's on Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Lizzie wasn't sure about the cake at first, but Uncle Tom persuaded her to give it a try (he did the same thing for Abbie on her first birthday!) She finally figured it out and I think she liked it. Also, Uncle Tom, Aunt Amber, Hunter and Blake gave her a baby stroller and I think she thought it was for her to ride in...I thought it was so cute. Mrs. Reba, who works at the bank with Daddy and who also catered our wedding, made an unbelievable cake...it looked exactly like the napkin I used. We had a great time visiting and Lizzie definitely enjoyed herself!

A Day at the Park

It's been a while since I've updated the blog...sorry!!! It's kinda been crazy around here to say the least. A lot has happened since my last post...playing at the park, Lizzie's 1st Birthday, Thanksgiving, and the beginning of Christmas parties!!! These first pictures are from Saturday, November 17, at Dogwood Hills in Brewton. This was really the first time Lizzie has been able to play. Abbie is so excited to finally have a built-in playmate. They had so much fun...Lizzie slid down the slide for the first time!!!

My Little "Indian"

Today at pre-school, the kids dressed up and sang some Thanksgiving songs for us. Blaine even left school to come watch. Of course, I was in such a hurry to get there that I forgot the camera. Anyway, we made some pictures after we got home. By the way, Abbie did a great job with her songs and motions!!!
